Learn to recognize the letters of the Alphabet in spoken English with our educational game app on your Nokia smart phone:

Alphabet

This game shows you letters of the English Alphabet and says the name of an object. You have to choose the first letter of the object's name, either by touching the letter on the touch screen of your phone or by keying in the number beside the letter using your phone's key pad.

At first it is very easy, because the game only shows you a small number of uppercase letters from which to choose. As your grasp of the English Alphabet improves, the game gradually becomes more difficult as the game adds, one by one, more letters from which you have to choose.

If you are not sure which letter to choose, touch any letter or key the number beside it. The game will show you a photo of an object whose name begins with that letter and say the name of that object so that you can hear how that letter is pronounced in English.

You can make the game repeat the object's name again by either swiping the photo or pressing the 1 key. When you are ready to continue the game, tap the touch screen of your phone or the * to have another go at choosing the right letter.

If you choose the right letter first time, the game plays a jingle, says the name of an object whose name begins with the letter and shows you a full size photo of the object so that you associate the letter with the object.

On a touch screen phone, you can swipe the photo to make the phone say the name of the object in the photo again. Tap the touch screen to continue the game.

You can do the same thing using the key pad: press the 1 key to make the phone say the name of the object again. Press the* key to continue the game.

If you took more than one go to choose the right letter, the game shows you the object for the correct letter at the top of the screen and one of the other objects that you viewed at the bottom so that you can see and hear the differences.

On a touch screen phone: swipe either photo to make the phone say the name of the object in the photo again. Tap the touch screen to continue the game.

You can do the same thing using the key pad: press the 1 key to make the phone say the name of the object in the upper photo again. Press the 4 key to make the phone say the name of the object in the lower photo. Press the * key to continue the game.

To ensure that you remember the letters that you have already learned, the game often retests you on these letters before teaching you another new letter.

You can stop playing the game at any time and then continue later from where you left off. The game remembers how much progress you have made and does not restart at the beginning unless you completely reinstall the game.

The game displays how many objects you know in the ticker tape and plays a special jingle every time you get 10 answers right in a row.
